Today, IBM announced that it was releasing new terms and conditions after listening to their iSeries resellers. The new terms will come into effect during the first quarter allowing resellers to make a larger margin on specific types of deals.
The company realized that they were beginning to lose VARs because the terms and conditions did not meet their needs. Two years ago, the company began to develop a way to bring all their solutions under one umbrella so that the programs are easier to understand.
The new program is being called Opportunity Advantage. IBM is attempting to “improve the retained margin in the channel.” The base discount for the service has been brought down so that VARs have to register deals. VARs who add more value will be increasing their margin. Find out more about the new Opportunity Advantage Program in the complete article, IBM takes Advantage to its iSeries resellers (link above).
