IT Support: Four Areas of Responsibility

Your clients count on you to be the strategic planner and problem solver for all of their technical needs. If you prepare yourself to remain responsible to your customers in each of these four areas, you will be sure to keep your clients for years to come.

  1. Coordinating Telecommunications Solutions

You will research and plan what types of connections are needed for the office and with some clients, you will even take charge of contacting the telecommunications company to set everything up.

  1. Testing 1, 2, 3

Help clients test products and figure out how to apply vertical applications to the everyday needs of the company.

  1. Training the Guru or the Masses

Two types of training will exist in the company. First, you may show small groups how to use new applications. Second, you will need to train the office guru (the one everyone comes to with questions) how to answer the basic questions and train the rest of the staff.

  1. Count on the Inevitable Disaster

Clients expect you to know the worst that could happen and prevent it. Thus, you will be updating data backup systems, antivirus software, power protection and security as well as creating proactive solutions to protect against potential future problems.
