HP announced that Ron Griffin would now be in charge of global development and support for the company's IT consulting branch, the Technology Solutions Group (TSG). Griffin’s appointment completes the new IT team for the company.
Griffin is a 25-year member of the IT consulting industry and joins the HP team at age 52 shortly after helping to launch Griffin, Anderson and Co., a burgeoning IT consulting firm. Before founding that company, he was the Executive Vice President and CIO at Fleming Companies.
Before his post at Fleming Companies, Griffin was with The Home Depot for 11 years, and during the last 8 acted as senior vice president and CIO. He made remarkable progress for the company during his tenure and led the IT strategy and business initiative that brought the company from less than $3 billion to $54 billion in sales. With Griffin as CIO, Home Depot was Number One on Computerworld's U.S. list of "Best Places to Work in IT" three times. The company also ranked in the Top 20 every year he was on-board.
