Computer Consulting 101 was founded by Joshua Feinberg in order to help business owners better sell services, increase profits and grow their businesses. Small business consultants typically have incredible technical skills, but they are often the most uncomfortable of all consultants with business aspects such as marketing, sales, customer service, finance and contracts. Computer Consulting 101 training ideas are designed to help with this discomfort, providing practical strategies for computer consulting business owners.
From 1989-1997, Joshua learned that many other computer resellers, consultants and integrators wanted to have better access to business development training. In 1997 and 1998, he worked as a contributing editor at Selling Windows NT Solutions Magazine, a companion to Windows NT Magazine, but while his columns were popular among consultants, the publisher cut the magazine because it served too small of a niche.
But Joshua felt business-focused how-to columns were still desperately needed by small business computer consultants and was able to convince Microsoft that these columns were integral to the success of these professionals. In 1999 and 2000, the Microsoft Direct Access and Solution Provider sectors hired Joshua as a content provider. He authored over 40 bi-weekly columns, which were translated into 14 different languages and distributed globally and created the company’s first Small Business Server book.
In early 2001, the technology explosion of the late 1990’s started to die down and both magazine publishers and Microsoft itself started to withdraw support for Joshua’s small business training tools. Computer consulting business owners, resellers and network integrators were facing low profit margins on product sales, forcing them to desperately need tools that would help them redefine their roles and diversify services. They had to find ways to put their companies first instead of relying on specific companies or operating systems to drive them. In response, Joshua created Computer Consulting 101 in 2002 to give professionals access to better business training.
Computer Consulting 101 offers sales and marketing training to the world’s largest computer reseller trade group and computer services franchise.
