Hackers Worming in Through HP Printer Software

Most consumers would never think of their printer as a tool for hackers to reach them and their personal information. But that's just what happened with some of Hewlett-Packard's color printers.

The company admitted this week that hackers could use software for two of their printers to hack into the computers and steal data off the users' computers. Danish tracker, Secunia, found the bug and said the problem was "less critical."

According to Graham Cluley, a senior technology consultant at U.K. security company Sophos: "A vulnerability like this opens the door for hackers to spy on your sensitive information. Users running the affected software should upgrade as soon as possible."
