Small Business Insurance: Do You Need It?

As a computer consultant, you want your company protected by both general and professional liability. Make sure that the professional liability insurance also has an "errors and omissions" rider as well.

Business insurance generally costs around $3500 per year, but the price will depend on the size of your business – number of employees and amount of equipment. Carefully explain what types of insurance you want in your policy, so that your agent can give you the best deal.

When you're choosing your insurance policy, make sure you consult your attorney as well. You want to make sure that you have all the information you need so that your company is covered legally.
