Bethesda, MD-based VAR organization ASCII Group, with 2,000 North American solution providers signed a partnership deal with Brigantia Group, a collection of 1,000 solution providers in the United Kingdom. This partnership of solution providers will help ASCII and members to globalize their voices when negotiating discounts with vendors and distributors.
Spokespeople from ASCII hope that this new alliance will help them get more high profile accounts. Solution providers working for the company are excited about the possibilities to get better contracts with vendors and be able to compete with the terms of well-known retailers like Best Buy and Circuit City.
As part of the deal, Brigantia will add the name ASCII EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) when submitting and negotiating contracts and proposals. ASCII hopes that this new relationship will lead to direct relationships with solution providers in the U.K. and the United States. This will allow ASCII to not lose contact with clients that decide to open offices across the Atlantic.
Once the European presence of ASCII is more solidified, the company hopes to start relationships with solution providers in India, however at the moment there is no organization there that resembles either ASCII or Brigantia.
