Handheld Devices: Tips on Purchase Recommendations

You can help your clients and save your sanity by following a few of these recommendations. Many clients know little about handheld products and are likely to make poor choices without your expert help.

Read Product Reviews

Be sure to stay updated on the latest product reviews. Many companies will claim that their products are "Plug-and-Play" when they're not. Read independent product reviews before choosing a product.

Direct the Next Steps

Most of the time you don't want to let end users take care of installation on their own. Most likely, they will not be able to take care of everything correctly, and you'll end up with more headaches than you could have imagined.

Banned Items

Determine what types of data should be stored on a handheld device and make sure to share any security concerns with your clients. Most people don't think about the dangers of leaving sensitive data on a PDA, so it's up to you to remind them.
