As you are looking, keep things simple. Although you're probably hoping for a magic program, it just doesn't exist. Find solutions that will work on your computer and will allow you to keep up with everything simply and easily.
These are a few of my favorites that will help you run your business efficiently:
- Use Microsoft Office, Outlook, Publisher, Word, and Excel. They are reliable and will work with your clients' systems.
- Use a time, billing, and accounting package that provides business software solutions to small business. Quickbooks is a good, simple choice.
- Get a good contact management package like ACT.
- For basic research use the tools at support.microsoft.com.
