Seminars can be a great tool for promoting your business, but there are several key ways to make sure that your seminars are successful.
First of all, make sure that you require registration, even if its free. Since you only have limited space, you need to know about how many people are coming, but you can also be pretty sure that some people won't show for a free event.
Make sure you have a check-in table at the event as well so that you can have them complete a survey in order to register for some type of door prize. These surveys will help you quickly determine what to discuss with the group. Be sure you educate them on what to watch for or do as it's easier to solicit work from educated people.
After the seminar, provide a handout with your contact information and some type of special limited time offer. Write up the highlights and send it out as an e-newsletter or get it published in your local newspaper or business journal. Additionally, you can use this as a promotional product when you offer a free report in a direct mail piece.
