The newest version of Tripod Data Systems' popular TDS Recon is now available. The X-Series rugged handheld computer allows users to implement Bluetooth with the system and it also incorporates Windows Mobile 5.0.
Bill Martin, president of TDS, said, "The next-generation Recon incorporates capabilities users have told us they want. Built-in wireless makes it easy to stay connected when working in the field, and the enhancements to Windows Mobile help prevent data loss."
There are two models of the new computer and both have additional Flash memory. The primary difference between the two models is the amount of Flash memory and the processor. Now the system also comes in a range of colors with a built-in microphone and a touch pad system.
According to Chris Hill, group product manager, Mobile & Embedded Devices Division, at Microsoft Corp.: "Windows Mobile provides enterprises with a consistent and flexible platform to assist in the mobilization of their workforce and increase productivity. Windows Mobile 5.0 along with Tripod Data System's rugged hardware provides access to important information at any time and anywhere in the most extreme conditions."
