IT Marketing: Using Speaking Engagements

Speaking engagements are a great way to network and make connections with area businesses. Let’s talk about some of the most effective ways to use speaking engagements as part of your IT marketing plan.

Speak at Other Groups' Meetings

At other groups’ meetings, your audience is captive. They are already at the Chamber and Rotary meeting because someone else convinced them to come – you’re just showing up as the feature speaker.

Tailor Your Speaking to your Audience

When focusing on business organizations make sure that the group’s demographics, or at least part of them, fit your sweet spot client profile. Then, tailor your speaking to cover topics that interest and affect the people in that sweet spot.

Free Seminars

You may want to conduct free seminars on topics like how to protect your computer systems from viruses, security breaches and blackouts. Your seminar should never be more than 45 minutes, and you should always offer a free gift for attending.
