Marketing Techniques That Can Work for Value Added Resellers

There are many different types of marketing techniques. Marketing specialists all provide you with many different marketing technique ideas so you can choose what works best for your business. The following is a list of suggested marketing techniques that can be used by value added resellers:

1. Relationship marketing is by far the most successful marketing technique and involves marketing through networks and business organizations in order to get good referrals.

2. Hosting seminars is the second most effective marketing technique; you can host your own seminar or else join forces with other professionals or niche technology providers.

3. Many value added resellers find that direct mail works well as a marketing technique. If you use this method, you need to have a very targeted list of recipients.

4. Value added resellers often use the following miscellaneous marketing techniques that are somewhat hit or miss, since they work for some but not for others: entity marketing; government or education marketing; lead sharing from Independent Hardware Vendors or Software Vendors; marketing as a sub-contractor for another business; opening a retail computer store at a busy location; cable TV ads geared towards a very specific audience; door hangers; telemarketing or canvassing; magazine ads.


While the last category of marketing techniques may not work as well as networking, hosting seminars or direct mail they are worth trying just to provide variety and attract different clients. Regardless, marketing techniques have a very specific effectiveness. Your greatest effort should be spent at relationship marketing followed by seminar hosting and direct mail.
