Sony To Drop Out of Desktop Display Market

Sony’s had a rough week. First their batteries were recalled in thousands of Dell laptops. Now there are rumors from good sources saying that Sony is planning to drop out of the desktop display market.

Apparently the stiff price competition was too much for the company. Although the refuse to answer the rumors, VARs and retailers are saying that Sony has already contact them about the move.

According to Michael Stavnshoj, monitor category manager for Zones, a reseller of IT products, including Sony desktop displays: "Rather than lowering their standards, they're moving out of the business."
